  • This special edition cushion cover has one side velvet and other side is silk ikat fabric. Plus we added extra fringing for an extra touch of luxury. Please note that the price is for the cushion cover only. Due to the traditional way of making these IKATs, there may be some imperfections in the fabric or colour which we believe only adds to  IKAT's uniqueness.

IKAT CUSHIONS

To make IKAT fabric, the threads are dyed before weaving using an ancient tie dye technique   instead of printing or painting a design on after fabric is woven.

Just imagine the difficulty the weaver has lining up the dyed yarns so the design appears perfectly in the finished fabric. The more colours and complicated patterns IKAT has, the more difficult it is to weave perfectly hence the blurriness.

We love the fact that none of the IKAT fabrics are exactly the same and it has imperfections in the patterns. In our opinion this only shows someone put such an effort making this amazing fabric and only adds to its uniqueness.
