To make IKAT fabric, the threads are dyed before weaving using an ancient tie dye technique instead of printing or painting a design on after fabric is woven.
Just imagine the difficulty the weaver has lining up the dyed yarns so the design appears perfectly in the finished fabric. The more colours and complicated patterns IKAT has, the more difficult it is to weave perfectly hence the blurriness.
We love the fact that none of the IKAT fabrics are exactly the same and it has imperfections in the patterns. In our opinion this only shows someone put such an effort making this amazing fabric and only adds to its uniqueness.

Cushion covers
I love the 2 cushion covers I bought, they are very good quality and look great on the sofa. I bought these because I’d previously bought a smaller cushion cover from this site, again in IKAT velvet, and it’s beautiful too.

Thankyou so much for the lovely ikat cushions I purchased from you, they’re really unusual and excellent quality. They also came pretty quickly, even in the middle of a pandemic! Many thanks, Liz
